Mrs. Myers and Ms. Adcock's Kindergarten classes have been studying winter holidays around the world. This past week's focus has been on Chinese New Year. Students learned about the different characters that represent each year. 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit. Students listened to Chinese folktales, made rabbit lanterns, and dragon hats. They learned how to say some words in Chinese. The week was complete with the students performing a Chinese New Year Parade, complete with a dragon, lanterns, musical instruments, and a gong! Students also tasted chow mein using chopsticks and shared their fortunes from their fortune cookies. A special thank you to our volunteer, Jennie Coman, for all her help with this project.
