Every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be.

Welcome!

I was born and raised in eastern North Carolina and have lived in the Asheville area since 1997. My life has brought me various opportunities and experiences that have shaped my perspectives and allowed me to keep an open mind toward the students, families, and the school community.

I graduated from Gardner-Webb with my Master's degree in School Administration - Executive Leadership and served as an Assistant Principal at Clyde A. Erwin Middle School from 2015-2022. I graduated from Mars Hill University with my Bachelor's degree in Education and Business. My classroom experience was at A.C. Reynolds Middle School for English Language Arts and Social Studies from 2006-2015. In addition, I also had the pleasure of serving as an athletics coach for seven years, partnered with other educators for curriculum development, and served on various committees within Buncombe County Schools.

I am passionate about growing students to feel successful and be successful in whatever path they choose. I am student-driven; I have a firm belief in family first and believe in community. My role is to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families that help me decide and implement choices that will positively impact the entire school community. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and encouraging educational environment and implement rigorous and high-order instruction at Cane Creek Middle School.

I am excited to be a part of the Cane Creek family and look forward to an exciting 2022-2023 school year. Go Hurricanes!

Please contact me with accolades to our staff, concerns, or questions by email or telephone.

Mrs. Alison Price

I am excited to serve the Cane Creek community as your Assistant Principal! It was teachers in this county that inspired me to become an educator as well. I graduated from Appalachian State University with an Elementary Education degree in 1997. After teaching for three years in Harnett County, NC, I moved back to Buncombe County to continue as a classroom teacher. In 2003, after obtaining my K-12 licensure in Reading, I transitioned to serve as a reading specialist in the Enka, North Buncombe, and Erwin districts. In 2020, I earned my Masters in School Administration from WCU.

I am also the proud mom of a Buncombe County Schools graduate who is now a student at Appalachian State, as well as a bonus daughter who attends public school in Georgia.

My personal mission is building bridges with students, staff and parents to positively change lives every day. Thank you in advance for sharing your lives and school-community with me.

Mrs. Heather Rejzer

Mrs. Heather Rejzer

I am thrilled to be serving as Assistant Principal with A.C. Reynolds Middle School and Cane Creek Middle School. I received my undergraduate and Master's degrees from Western Carolina University. I taught in Charlotte from 2001-2004 then moved with my husband back to the Asheville area. I am a proud graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School. When we moved back to the area, I was overjoyed to get a job at ACRMS in 2004, and taught there for 18 years. I began with 6th grade math, then moved to 8th grade. I also spent one semester in 7th grade. My family and I live here in the Fairview area and both of my sons attended Cane Creek Middle.

I am excited to be starting my administrative career here and serving our amazing community in a new way! My mission is supporting our staff who work daily with your student, helping build plans for students that support them, and finding ways to allow families to be a part of our educational community.
