I am looking forward to another incredible year at CCMS.

This is my 16th year teaching 7th grade ELA in NC. I am a National Board Certified teacher in English/Language Arts and am also certified to teach Science and Social Studies. I believe the purpose of education is to help students learn to think; about themselves, others, and the rest of the world. To achieve this, we focus on positive communication, teamwork, and critical thinking.

I'm originally from WI, but I've lived in NC for 16 years. Currently, I live in Asheville with my husband and dog. When not working, I enjoy reading, sewing, dancing, and being outdoors (gardening, kayaking, camping). WNC has so much to offer, and we appreciate every day.

Please contact me via email, telephone, or agenda if you ever have questions or concerns. I am truly looking forward to getting to know all my students and their families.

I have multiple crowd-sourcing classroom projects requests. If you are interested in joining others to fund a large project, please visit my project page at Donor's Choose

Education is a social process. Education is growth. Education is not a preparation for life; education is life itself.
