I am looking forward to another incredible year at CCMS.
Despite the unique challenges this year presents, I know it will be an exciting, educational year for all of us.
This is my 18th year teaching 7th grade ELA in NC. I am a National Board Certified teacher in English/Language Arts and am also certified to teach Science and Social Studies.

I believe the purpose of education is to help students learn to think; about themselves, others, and the rest of the world. To achieve this, we focus on positive communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. While this will look differently this year, students will still have numerous opportunities to collaborate and problem-solve.
I'm originally from WI, but I've lived in NC for 18 years.  I live in Asheville with my husband and dog. When not working, I enjoy reading, sewing (I've made SO many masks over the past year and a half!), and being outdoors (gardening, kayaking, camping). WNC has so much to offer, and we appreciate every day.
Please contact me if you ever have questions or concerns. Email is most convenient, but phone and Google Hangouts are also excellent options.

I am truly looking forward to getting to know all my students and their families.

Education is a social process. Education is growth. Education is not a preparation for life; education is life itself.
