VIRTUAL DAYS

Below you will find information regarding the use of virtual days for chorus.

1) Mrs. Strickler will hold "office hours" from 9:00am - 1:00pm Monday through Friday, during which time she is available for active communication in the event a parent or student has questions regarding chorus or a specific assignment.

2) The primary Learning Management System used for our virtual days will be Google Classroom.  You can find a link to your student's Google Classroom below.  Students have also been given previous instruction and assignments in Sight-Reading Factory and FlipGrid.  However, all assignments and announcements will be tracked and posted in our Google Classroom.

Mrs. Strickler

Hi Everyone!  Thank you for visiting the CCMS Chorus page!  As we get ready to begin a new year, I encourage you to take a moment to consider what effect studying and participating in music can have on your child and the development of all children in our society.  Music not only impacts academic achievement, it also shapes the way our students understand themselves and the world around them.  Please checkout Broader Minded - Education for the Whole Child, along with several eye-opening articles regarding the benefits of music education, located under Benefits of Music Education on the left side of this page.

My wish list for the chorus room is as follows:
DRY ERASE MARKERS
TISSUES
HAND SANITIZER
BAND-AIDS
PANTYHOSE (yes, this is true)
USED SOCKS (washed first would be great)
DARK TIES
BLACK SOCKS
Donations of general school supplies like pencils and paper are always welcome!

And now that I have given my two cents... I am happy to be a part of the CCMS Choral Program and look forward to sharing many great musical moments!  I am currently in my twelfth year teaching middle school chorus in North Carolina.  In addition to being a part of school music programs, I also have experience directing church choirs and handbells with both adults and younger folks.

In my spare time, I enjoy taking in the outdoors with my husband Andrew, the Director of Bands at Asheville Middle School, and our dog Moe.

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions you have about CCMS chorus.  For questions on expectations or events, feel free to visit the Chorus Contract
section of this site.  This contract contains a full year calendar.  For other events, you may also visit the calendar section of this page.
