Mock Trial

Weclome to the CCMS Mock Trial Page!
Mock Trial is an academic competition where students study a legal case, develop a courtroom strategy to present both sides of the case and present the case in a real courtroom in front of real judges.  Students are scored on an understanding of the law, courtroom procedures, professionalism and quality of the representation for their clients.ama

We usually get the case materials the first week of school and regional competitions will be held in November/December.  Regional Champion teams move on to the NC State Middle School Mock Trial finals in January, usually in Raleigh/Durham.

Tryouts for the Mock Trial Team usually take place the second or third week of school.  Please listen for announcements which indicate when and where tryouts will be.  Once the team is set at the beginning of the year, it is unlikely that anyone will be able to join the team later.  If you are interested in Mock Trial, don't miss out on the tryouts!2016

Cane Creek Mock Trial has a great tradition and strong reputation across the state.  We have won the regional competition the last 4 years in a row, have won the NC State Middle School Mock Trial Championship and been first runner up twice.
Students who participate on the CCMS Mock Trial Team are expected to work hard to prepare their roles for competition.   Mock Trial requires students to be focused, creative and develop their presentation skills.
We need students to act as lawyers, witnesses and bailiffs and there is no better training to be good at Mock Trial than Theater experience.
