Welcome to science!! I love teaching science!!!  I have been teaching for 25 years and all but 2 of those years have been in middle school science.  Teaching is my passion.  I enjoy helping you to experiment, collaborate and discover the world in which we live.  I hope you'll enjoy the experience and grow in your knowledge as we delve into the curriculum.  My job is not only to teach you science knowledge but how to be a good citizen prepared to actively participate in the 21st century.

I have been at Cane Creek for 12.5 years.  This is a great school and you'll love being a Hurricane.  Before coming to Cane Creek, I was in South Carolina where I taught for 12.5 years.  I went to Coker College for my undergraduate degree and Columbia College for my master's degree.

In August, I celebrate my 43rd wedding anniversary to William (Billy) King.  He is the senior pastor at Beverly Hills Baptist Church, Asheville.  We have one son, Michael.  Michael is married to Kate (who is also a teacher) and they have one daughter, Clara Grace.  Clara will be 4 in December.  Michael and Kate are expecting their 2nd daughter near the end of January 2020.  They live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  We have a dog, Higgins.  Higgins is a 13 years old shepherd/lab mix.

I enjoy reading fiction - especially drama.  A couple of my favorite authors are James Patterson and David Baldacci.  A few of my favorite vacation spots are Baton Rouge, LA; Lake Greenwood, SC; Hilton Head Island, SC.  I love SNOW and hope we have many inches/feet this winter.

I can't wait to meet you.  I look forward to a great year!!
