I am very glad to be part of the faculty at Cane Creek Middle School where I began my teaching career in 2003 as a part-time substitute/interim teacher. This is my tenth year teaching ELA full time and I am thrilled to be with our excellent 8th grade staff.
It's hard to believe that my children are as old as they are! Some like to remind me that we are "empty nesters".  Our family is my greatest gift, so let me tell you a bit about each one.

Steven Austin, our "son-in-love" is married to his high-school sweetheart ,our daughter, Ashley. Both are graduates of App State and have challenging careers in the Charlotte area. Ashley is expecting their first baby in December and we are thrilled! Steve, my beloved husband of 30 years, works at Eaton Corp in Arden and leads a small group with our church. What I appreciate most about him is his servant leadership. Weston, our youngest son, is a senior at University of Tennessee-Knoxville- Go Vols! He is looking forward to studying abroad in Italy this semester.  Tyler, also a graduate of ASU, works at the Stable Cafe in the Biltmore Estate.  We are so glad that he has made Asheville his home as an adult.
We feel like natives to Asheville since we have lived here 30 years!  We are involved with our church, the YMCA, and enjoy music, hiking, and the arts.

It's going to be a great year!  I'm committed to helping your child reach their fullest potential.  Feel free to contact me by email ( with questions or concerns. Thank you!
