Who are Ambassadors?
- Nominated by students and/or teachers by grade level
- Complete
application process including personal responses, examination of
academic performance, teacher recommendations, and parent approval
- Chosen by grade level counselor and Counseling Advisory Committee
- Typically 1 or 2 per homeroom who are not involved in other leadership roles such as Student Council, Athletics, etc…
- Educated in social skills etiquette and proper social behavior
- Trained to assist new students, answer questions, etc…
What CCMS Ambassadors do:
Represent CCMS in a variety of capacities:
- Welcome visiting families, guests, and future students
- Assist new students with their transition to CCMS
- Introduce them to teachers and other students
- Assist with class changes
- Sit with them at lunch
- Assist with the end of the school-day – to bus or car rider pick up
- Continue to check in the first several days to ease transition
- Assist with Open Houses, Parent Nights, New Student Orientations
- Serve refreshments
- Hand out programs
- Give directions
- Give tours
- Represent CCMS in other ways as needed: flag duties, school improvement (see litter and pick it up, notify staff if things at school are broken, falling down, missing), assist teachers as needed in a responsible way
Provide assistance with other activities and projects as needed
- Fund raising for Counseling Department
- Special functions or activities under the direction of the counselors
- Aid in creating a positive social environment throughout CCMS
